Pernoonkosket is a 1.2 km stretch of rapids on the Kymijoki River, known for its large drop and excellent white-water kayaking. It is protected under Finnish law and part of the Natura 2000 area. The river splits into two branches, with water flow varying by season. The area is used mainly for tourism and recreation, with kayaking and rafting being popular activities. The rapids include Torminvirta, Vääräänkoski, Ruhankoski, and several others, offering varying difficulty levels for kayakers. Fishing is allowed only with permission.
