The schooner hanging from the ceiling once belonged to Axel Haartman's father, Hugo Haartman, and likely originates from Högsåra in Nagu. It originally had a hunting rig, but Axel had an old sailor re-rig it to a galeas in the 1930s. The reason for this was that during that time, he painted many galeases sailing past his summer place in Kimito, and he needed a model for the details of the rigging. The ship has always been named Gustaf Adolf.
