Hedvig Haartman studied chasing (a form of metalworking) in Munich when Axel and she lived there in 1902. She participated in craft exhibitions until 1907, including those at the Ateneum and the Turku Art Museum (check this with Kirsi). In the Casa Haartman collection, there are several buckles she made (link to favorite list in Finna). Of her metalwork, the only piece in Casa Haartman is the dish in the library. The dish was made during her study period in Munich.
