The Toivola Tray is painted by Axel Haartman and was a Christmas present from him to Hedvig Haartman. The painting on the tray depicts Hedvig’s parents’ house in Ruovesi. The house was called Toivola. The two women in front of the porch are Hedvig and her older sister, Alfhild. Around the border are written the names of Hedvig’s parents, Johan and Augusta, along with the names of their seven children.
