The walls of the staircase are filled with drawings made by Axel and his artist colleagues. On the wall to the right at the beginning of the staircase, there is a drawing of a boy in profile, created by Helene Schjerfbeck.

On the wall, there is also a large lithograph by Schjerfbeck, a later version of her famous work Konvalescenten (The Convalescent).

To the left of Konvalescenten, there is a drawing of Hedvig Stolpe (later Haartman) as a child.
