During their one-and-a-half-year stay in Italy from 1898 to 1900, Axel and Hedvig got to know Charles and Beda Lindholm in Rome. Charles Lindholm was a Swedish architect. For a time, the Haartmans and the Lindholm family, along with their two young daughters, lived in the same house in Rome on Via Tomacelli Street.
In the bedroom, there are two paintings from that time. In one, you can see Hedvig and Beda working in Haartman's studio on Via Tomacelli. In the other painting, Axel has depicted the couple's daughters, who were called Lillan and Gullan. This painting hangs above the sofa.
