During their one-and-a-half-year long honeymoon in Italy in 1898-1900 the Haartmans befriended the Swedish couple Charles and Beda Lindholm. Charles Lindholm was an architect. The Haartmans and the Lindholm family lived in the same house in Via Tomacelli in Rome for a while.
The bedroom houses two paintings by Axel Haartman from that time. One portrays Hedvig Haartman and Beda Lindholm in Haartmans’s studio in Via Tomacelli. The other shows the Lindholms’ two young daughters, Gullan (“Sweetheart”) and Lillan (“Little One”).
