In the painting Looking for Lost (2018), two maids are depicted examining a travel trunk in the bedroom of the museum Ett Hem. On the wall of the adjoining room hangs a large portrait of Mrs Jacobsson.

The figures are dressed in servant uniforms used in the museum’s dramatized tours, creating a strong illusion of a home from a hundred years ago. In Adamsson’s work, past and present intertwine – the museum’s objects, atmosphere, and historical costumes serve as a starting point for a painterly escapism that captures fleeting moments on canvas.
