Uspenski is a cathedral and that implies that it houses the seat of the bishop. This specific throne is quite new to the church. It was originally from Kuopio, made for archbishop Paavali (1960-1987), and it was transported to Helsinki when the archbishop of Finland moved to Uspenski Cathedral in 2018.
