Just four blocks from the Convent of San Antonio de Padua is this small pyramid, ideal for a brief but enriching visit. The access is framed by a yellow fence, a black fence and a nice engraving of a rabbit guarding a straw house.
Explored in 1994, it presents three constructive stages. Among the remains, vessels, flint points and elements of the Puuc architectural style were found, suggesting that the upper structures -now disappeared- could have followed this tradition. Although its original function is not entirely clear, it is considered that it could have been the base of the residence of an important personage in Maya times. Although smaller in size, its architecture and archaeological findings make it an ideal stop for a quick and meaningful visit within the historic center of Izamal. It is located at 22 x 33 and 31 in the Santo Domingo neighborhood.
