The Church of the Holy Family of Nazareth is the Catholic church in Oulu, located in Koskela, about 4–5 km from the city center. The parish was established in 1992, but Catholic activities in Oulu began as early as 1986. The church was designed by Italian-Swiss architect Gabriele Geronzi, with its first section completed in 1991 and the second in 2000. Pope John Paul II blessed its foundation stone in 1989.
The parish serves Northern Ostrobothnia, Kainuu, and Lapland, hosting regular masses and events open to all. The Catholic Church in Finland is small but active, with eight parishes nationwide. More details can be found here.
