Located on Calle 30, right in front of the old railroad station, La Conquista is a Yucatecan restaurant with history. Originally a resting place for railroad workers, today it is a cozy space that fulfills its owner's dream of offering authentic local flavors. Among its specialties are the stuffed Xcatic chiles and the traditional Poc Chuc, accompanied by refreshing drinks such as chaya or lemonade. The service is warm and attentive, and they usually offer complimentary snacks as a welcome. Although it is located about six blocks from downtown, it is worth the walk for its excellent seasoning, affordable prices and family atmosphere. A corner with local essence that connects past and present in Izamal's gastronomy.
