Lat. Crassula ovata

In the Nordic countries, the jade plant has been grown as a houseplant for over 100 years. It originates from the dry savannas of South Africa and can reach a height of 1–2 meters in the wild. In its native habitat, the jade plant produces star-shaped pink flowers during the winter, but it rarely blooms as a houseplant. As a succulent adapted to arid steppe environments, it thrives in dry indoor air. The jade plant is easy to propagate from either leaf or stem cuttings.
