Lat. Adiantum raddianum

Adiantum, commonly known as maidenhair fern, is a perennial fern native to Brazil. It was imported to Europe in large quantities for medicinal purposes, as it was believed to help treat tuberculosis and other respiratory illnesses. Tea made from its leaves was consumed to relieve sore throats and asthma. In Finland, the plant was especially popular as a houseplant around the turn of the 20th century. Adiantum thrives in warm, humid conditions, which can be challenging to maintain indoors.
