Lat. Aloë arborescens
The krantz aloe or the candelabra aloe is a succulent plant native to the drier regions of Africa. Its stiff, sword-like leaves typically grow in a rosette formation and have thick, waxy surfaces with spiny edges. Aloe tends to grow in a bushy form and requires only minimal watering. In the wild, the plant can reach heights of up to three meters. Aloe has been used for medicinal purposes in Finland since the mid-19th century.
