The fish caught in Rävykoski is lake trout. There is also wild trout in the rapids, but the most common catch is stocked lake trout. Permitted fishing gear includes flies and casting lures. Rävykoski is an excellent place for beginners to hone their skills.

Rules:

• Fishing season: May 1–June 30 and August 15–August 31.

• Permitted fishing gear: fly fishing and casting.

• Lures may have a maximum of one barbless single or treble hook.

• Wading is prohibited from May 1 to June 10.

• Landing nets must be knotless.

• The use of gaffs is prohibited.

• Fat-tailed trout are protected.

• All anglers are required to report their catch.

• Movement on the banks is prohibited in marked areas.

• Fishing from road bridges is prohibited.

• Cars may only be parked in the designated parking area.

• Fires are permitted in the designated fire pit area. Fires are prohibited during forest or grass fire warnings.

• Show your fishing permit to the fishing inspector upon request.

Minimum sizes for fish:

• Trout 50 cm (with adipose fin removed)

• Pikeperch 45 cm

License prices:

• 6-hour license: €14 / 1 salmonid per day

• 24-hour license: €26 / 2 salmonids per day

• Persons under the age of 16 receive a 50% discount on permit prices.

• Permits are personal and specific to each angler.

A 24-hour permit entitles the holder to catch two salmonids per day. A 6-hour permit entitles the holder to catch one salmonid per day. No additional permits will be issued for the same day.

License sales:

Licenses can be paid for to the bank account of the Kuosmala 1, 4, 5, and 6 shareholders' association at Suur-Savon Osuuspankki IBAN: FI32 5088 4420 0006 44, BIC: OKOYFIHH. The name of the permit holder, type of permit, date, and start time must be entered in the payment message field.

In addition to the Rävykoski fishing permit, everyone aged 18–64 must pay a fisheries management fee. The management fee can be paid on the Eräluvat.fi website.
