The Squirrel Route (Oravareitti in Finnish) between Juva and Sulkava is the first biologically studied Finnish aquatic nature trail marked with information boards.

The canoeing route is suitable for families in particular, the easy Oravareitti starts at Juva Camping and goes over Lake Jukajärvi towards the small stretches of river and easy rapids.

There are several places to rest and spend the night and travellers have a choice between spending the night outdoors amidst nature or comfortably indoors under a solid roof.

The route is at its best in May and at the end of the summer when the water level is high.
