Located by Kalasatama, Teurastamo (‘Slaughterhouse’) is a former slaughterhouse from 1933 that was opened to the public in the autumn of 2012 and is currently bustling with new urban and food culture. In summertime, the yard area serves as a large terrace and living room for the city’s residents, featuring a barbecue area for grilling locally purchased delicacies. The Teurastamo facilities even feature a sauna that can be rented for small groups!
