A building related to Lapland gold history in 1920s, brought to museum outdoor area in 1970s.
The building was originally a main building of research base used by gold company Lapin Kulta Ltd in early 1920's near River Ivalojoki area.
At the outdoor museum area Härkäselkä first served as new basic exhibition building in late 1970's. After that is has been an exhibition building for gemstones and minerals. However, it is closed and empty at the moment. During last few years the historical building has been under various renovation and refurbishment projects.
