At the state dinner on April 24, 1954, the menu included oxtail broth, pike-perch as an intermediate course, chicken with side dishes as the main course, and vanilla ice cream for dessert. The Parliament House ceremonial tableware, decorated with a heraldic rose, dates from 1931. On the table is a charger plate, on which the plates for each course are placed. In the cutlery arrangement, the soup spoon for the starter is placed farthest from the plate, followed by the fish fork and knife, and finally the main course cutlery. The dessert spoon is placed above the plate. Drinking glasses are used from right to left.
