The arboretum, or collection of tree species, with its old pines and precious hardwoods surrounds the outdoor garden area.

This part of the arboretum is a good resting place for migratory birds, especially in autumn. Owls, Northern nutcrackers (Nucifraga caryocatactes) and rare eastern Leaf warbler species are seen here regularly.
