During the Russo-Swedish War of King Gustav III (1788–1790), a monument was erected in honor of the fallen soldiers of the Elfsborg Regiment. It stands in the churchyard next to Sulkava Church. The monument was erected in 1936 by the Royal Elfsborg Regiment.
The inscription on the stone reads:
“Here rest soldiers of the Elfsborg Regiment who, in the war of 1788–1790, gave their lives for their homeland. The monument was erected by the Royal Elfsborg Regiment in 1936.”
