The second church of the Sulkava Parish is located in Lohikoski. Built on a high hill in 1934, the church was designed by architect Ilmari Wirkkala. He also created the altarpiece and the paintings on the gallery railing. The wooden sculpture on the pulpit was carved by Academician Tapio Wirkkala. The Lohikoski Church can accommodate about 250 people.
A church service is held there about once a month, and in July, an evening weekday mass is celebrated. Services are also held on All Saints’ Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas morning, Maundy Thursday, and Easter.
