Siikakoski is one of Europe's and Finland’s most renowned destinations for white-water fishing. It marks the beginning of the Konnevesi Rapids, a scenic seven-rapid route flowing from the clear waters of Lake Konnevesi. The river’s crystal-clear current boasts several meters of visibility, and wading is easy in many areas.
The rapid is home to brown trout and grayling. Siikakoski holds a special place in Finnish fishing history — it was a favorite retreat of President Urho Kekkonen, and even U.S. President Jimmy Carter once tried his luck here.
With its pure waters, natural beauty, and legendary stories, Siikakoski truly lives up to its reputation as a fly fishers’ paradise - and Rapids of the Presidents!
