Situated about three kilometres from Konnevesi’s village centre along Highway 69 toward Kuopio, the Konnevesi Cemetery serves as a serene and well-kept burial ground for the local parish. Surrounded by gentle rural scenery, it provides a tranquil setting for visitors to remember loved ones and find a moment of reflection.
The cemetery includes both coffin and urn burial areas, as well as a memorial grove with a designated scattering site forashes. A shared memorial monument stands within the grove, where families may attach plaques and leave flowers or light candles in memory of their loved ones.
Next to the chapel stands a monument dedicated to those buried elsewhere, allowing visitors to pay their respects even when graves are far away. The peaceful atmosphere, mature trees and careful maintenance make the Konnevesi Cemetery a place of dignity and quiet beauty.
More than just a burial ground, the Konnevesi Cemetery is part of the community’s living heritage – a space that connects past and present in the calm rhythm of nature and remembrance.
