Malla Trail, 11km

Goes through Malla Strict Nature Reserve to Three Nations’ Border Point. The trail runs in the middle of unique Arctic nature and stunning views.

Close to the start, you can take a detour to the top of Pikku-Malla, which is 3,5 km from the car park. Halfway on the Mallan polku trail you’ll find the gorgeous Kitsiputous waterfall, a great place for a break. From here, the trail gets rockier and more demanding due to stream crossings. You can take a break at the Kuohkimajärvi wilderness hut or even stay for the night.

A return trip on the trail will be about 22 km. You can also go either way on M/S Malla, which operates between Kilpisjärvi and Three Nations’ Border Point in the summer. Start from the Malla Strict Nature Reserve’s car park, north of the village.
