Parantola Trail (Parantolan polku) is an easy way to step into nature right next to the Paimio Sanatorium. This peaceful 2.2 km loop (with an optional shortcut of about 1 km) winds through the Parantola forest, where soft pine-needle paths, tall old pines and gently changing scenery make walking effortless yet rewarding.
This trail is ideal when you’re looking for a clear route, light outdoor activity or a calm break from everyday life. Along the way, information boards reveal the area’s history, and at Lemmenlampi pond you can discover a pumping station and dam designed by Alvar Aalto. The route is mostly flat, with one short uphill section adding a touch of variety.
The official starting point and parking area are located at Ruokolinnantie 28, Preitilä. You can also access the trail directly from the Paimio Sanatorium area via a connecting path. Clear orange trail markers make navigation easy throughout your walk.
