The hike up the mountain Stussnesfjellet on the island of Skjervøy is equally nice in summer and winter. The viewpoint offers good views of the fishing village. In autumn and winter, it’s a good spot for viewing the Northern Lights. You won’t need a headtorch if you head up in the evening.
If you park at the Rema 1000 supermarket, follow the road a few hundred metres south until you reach the intersection between Ørneveien and Rypevegen. Walk to the end of Rypevegen and then follow the gravel road all the way to the rustic shelter on the summit.
In summer, this route is ideal for young children, users of electric wheelchairs and people pushing prams.
Slightly below this cabin is a hammock park. You can hang up your hammock here and enjoy the view.
