Start a free self-guided tour through Helsinki’s rich history and architecture!
This tour is the perfect way to explore the city’s history and its Olympic-themed architecture. At the same time, you’ll experience the beauty and unique atmosphere of maritime Helsinki. The self-guided route takes you to the heart of the Olympic theme.
You can climb up to the 74-meter-high tower of the Olympic Stadium to admire the views and imagine what the Olympic Games looked like in the stadium 75 years ago. Along the way, you can also stop at cafés whose history dates back to the Olympic summer.
The tour begins at the Olympic Terminal of the Port of Helsinki, whose 75-year history we will soon be celebrating. However, the route can easily be started from any point.
City bike stations are marked on the map. You can rent a city bike at a discounted rate from any station and return it to another. The route can also be completed on foot -either in full or in sections, at your own pace.
