The Alanteentie walking path, located in the wooden-house district of Uitonrinne, is an excellent way to explore local history and culture. The road leading from the Uitonvirta bridge to the harbor used to be the busiest trade route in the area.
Along the path near the shore of Lake Saimaa stand mansard-roofed commercial buildings dating from the late 1800s. The village’s steamboat pier was a lively harbor where ships brought travelers and goods from as far as Vyborg and St. Petersburg.
Please note that most of the houses along the route are privately owned.
